love traveling
By Vietnam here we come
I have not been to Phu Quoc yet, but have traveled with the author years back and know for a fact that he love to seek new adventures and find pearls in places where few people look. So this is a book that I would defiantly bring on my next trip to Vietnam.

Typos,

This is only an OK review book in my opinion. The format is questions and answers with rationale, you will still need to study!! I have found several questions with an answer that does not reflect the written rationale for that answer. Some of the questions are quite bizarre in their content and scenarios. I recommend using the BCEN site for practice questions and answers, and CEN exam review by Med Ed with Jeff Solheim. The BCEN site uses Sheehy's and Emergency Nursing Core Curriculum 6th edition for its references.

Amazing review book. All you'll need to pass the exam!

I was hesitant to purchase this review book in fear it wouldn't cover the material on the actual CEN exam. However, this book was an amazing study guide. In fact a question in the review book was on the exam, almost word for word. I'd recommend this book to anyone studying for the CEN exam. It provids tons of difficult questions that truly preps you for test day. The authors did a great job and allowed me to pass my CEN!

Needs proofing and a forum for support. Very Frustrating

Agree with other buyer who states issues with typos and code issues. The explanations of programming and concepts are good but the code instructions and implementation are total crap. Has you choose an improper app type to start, Nav based app instead of a view based app.
Once you have done this you have to change files to make a nav based app act like a view based app. I spent 3 hours getting the app to launch with buttons because of a typo caused by this incompetence. Just to create a Main Menu screen!

Then you have to change the names of numerous files to make up for this stupidity. The instructions for refactoring are vague and therefore incorrect. Steps are skipped and out of order in numerous places. I really don't think anyone walked through this as first time reader before it was released. After spending an entire day trying to get past just making a button work I quit in frustration.

I am spending way too much time finding the corrections and resolving issues that have nothing to do with learning to program and everything to do with proofreading. Too much guessing "what might be wrong" and not enough "how to do this properly"

Would also be helpful if the dummies publisher had a forum. Where we could ask others questions about how to resolve some of these issues. It really is a shame as I started off really liking this book but it is just too hard and time consuing to translate the errors.

Has potential

I don't usually post a review until after I finish a book but in this case I didn't have a choice.
I"m stuck at chapter 6 and without updated errata, forum or Xcode project files for the game you are building in this book there's not much reason to continue. So I have put the book down and moved on to other iPhone books I own that are not showstoppers.
The main things that attracted me to this book, using GameKit and integration with Facebook, I never even got around to since the numerous typo's, error's, plus lack of project files for the chapter completely killed any enthusiasm I had to continue with the book.
Anyways, before that happened the book actually started off pretty good and was able to get the Main Screen for the game built and working as described in the book. I really liked how they did introduced a delay in the launch screen. Always wondered how that was done. Even so, I can confirm that there were numerous conflicts between the screenshots shown in the book and the directions for building even these first few parts of the game as mentioned by other reviewers. For example, Ch3 tells you to select a the Nav based app template but the screenshots show what a view based app would look like so from the start if you never used the iPhone SDK you will be confused. Also, if you never used the iPhone SDK all the interface builder sections will only add to the confusion. This book really needs to be in color so you can blue connection lines in IB when creating connections. I'm pretty sure that is why I'm not able to get my secondary view to show up for CH 6. If they at least included screenshots of what the completed connections and outlets should look like in IB maybe I could figure out if it's a problem with the book or my code. The fact that there is no completed Xcode project files available makes me think no one actually went through the book after it was written and maybe was released too soon.
If they ever update this book or code I'll update my review to include all the stuff I wanted to learn but never got a chance like, GameKit, Facebook and OpenGL as I mentioned since that's quite a bit of stuff I haven't seen covered in one game programming book before.

This book is abysmal. The number of typos make it unusable after chapter 2. The typos are in the actual sample code for building the projects. There is no support or errata online either. Save money and time and skip this one.

If unintegrated, aspects between these two planets can indicate an unstable self-image, schizoid disorder, and perverse rebelliousness -- or, resistance to change and compensatory egotism. If well integrated, however, these same aspects symbolize a capacity for conscious evolution, recognition of impermanence, and emancipation from the dictates of pride. Full integration enables one to be led by a higher intelligence for the sake of the collective good.

A Great Book!

This is a great book! Dr. Perry is particularly thorough and insightful in discussing the psychology of the Leo-Aquarius and Sun-Uranus relationships. He draws from his experience as a therapist to explain the psychological roots, development, and maturation of Leo-Aquarius themes but also draws from the Buddhist and Hindu traditions to explain how these signs relate to the urge toward spiritual evolution. He includes a brilliant discussion on Ted Kaczinsky's (the Unibomber) Sun-Uranus relationship and diagnosis of Schizoid Disorder. I highly recommend the book to anyone interested in the deeper psychological meaning of celestial correspondences to this astrological axis. I bought this book as Transiting Uranus was conjunct my Secondary Progressed Moon in Aries, 8th House and both trine natal Pluto in Leo, 12th House. It was the best book to read for this long Uranus-Leo event in my life! Thank you!

Good book. Helped immeasurably by the author's training in psychology, and I felt he truly grasped the mechanics of the Leo and Aquarius relationship. I myself have Uranus conjunct my nadir, and opposite my sun, with my 1st house in Leo, forming something like a T-square. This book provided really great insights into my own revolutionary, trickster traits and my "royal" sense of self-expression. Even if you've no personal connection to these aspects, if you have an interest in doing astrology readings at all, I feel this would be a good addition to the library and grasping the unique problems people face when they have significant Uranus-Sun aspects. I've seen numerous astrologers who don't emphasize the outer planets, but their presence in the personal life of natives can be profound, particularly in hard aspects. Well worth the read.

About the Author
Henry Strobel is the author-publisher of seven books on violin, viola, and cello making, repair, and adjustment, which are used worldwide. He recently published a video Watch Me Make a Cello, Step by Step. Born in Indiana in 1936, he had a first career as an electronic design engineer, and was one of the founders of Digital Telephone Systems, Inc. in California, which manufactured transmission and switching equipment. He served in the US Air Force service in Scotland as a communications officer. He studied violin as a schoolboy, made his first over thirty years ago, and has had his own violin business for twenty years, fifteen at his current full service violin shop in Oregon, where, with his wife and sons, he also makes violins, violas, and cellos, and writes books.

The second edition had only minor revisions, and this third edition is unchanged except for the important addition of data and drawings for making an artist class "7/8" size cello. Happily the exhaustion of the second edition coincided with the publication of my first video which illustrated the making of such a cello. Looking at the Afterword in this book, I wonder at the changes, the continued growth in violin making and in sales of these books, the ever increasing use of computers, E-mail, doing business on the internet, and our inevitable introduction of a video. But we still make and like our fiddles the old way.

Addendum for a 7/8 Size Cello

Violin Making Live! or Watch Me Make a Cello, Step by Step, is Henry Strobel's first video. In it he demonstrates and explains the violin maker's procedures and processes (common to violin, viola, and cello), using a cello as the example. Fortunately the cello model, adapted from a 7/8 size J. B. Guadagnini, made a wonderful sounding instrument in a size just right for a neglected minority of cellists. The documentation to reproduce it, lacking in the video, is published as an addendum to this Third Edition of Cello Making, Step by Step at the center of the book, just above the 4/4 size drawings. Readily removable for use, its pages are numbered A1 through A12, leaving the pagination of the basic book unchanged for reference reasons.

In preparation for building a cello, I have successfully built a violin using Mr. Strobel's "Violin Making Step by Step". I have reasonalble amatuer woodworking skills and simple but adequate tools and space. I also reviewed all of the reasonably obtainable sources on violin constuction and found Mr. Strobel's books to be more helpful than most. The author recommends the first time builder of a cello to first build a viloin in his preface to "Cello Making" and I heartily agree. The price of the wood is much cheaper and techniques can be mastered on a smaller scale. The price of his book is about that of one cello lesson and it will last a lot longer.

Must Have for Those Who Fix String Instruments

My husband is the woodworker in our family; our daughter plays the cello and also is a public school string teacher. Last year she had a cello in bad need of repair but her school budget didn't have the money to repair it, so. . .she brought it home to Dad and they got it fixed. Unfortunately, they had to completely take it apart to fix the problems but didn't have all the supplies to put it back together. Fortunately she could afford to pay someone else to glue it back together. This sparked a seed in my husband to want to learn more about how to work on a cello and we finally found it in this book. NOT FOR BEGINNERS, it does have all the information you need to work on a cello but we recommend also getting the "Violin Making" book as the two work hand-in-hand.
